Your Giving Supports our Work in Underserved Communities

The Washington Health Institute (WHI), a minority-led, nonprofit 501(c)(3) health care organization established in 2018, addresses the critical needs of underserved communities in Washington, DC & throughout the DC Metro Region. With your kind support, WHI is able to provide infectious diseases specialty care and primary care services, health education, psychosocial support, behavioral health, and cutting-edge research to those in greatest need in the Metro Region.

To date, over 8,000 patients are receiving primary care & Infectious Diseases specialty care at WHI; and WHI has offices at 1140 Varnum Street, NE (Michigan Park/Brookland) & 1330 New Hampshire Avenue, NW (Dupont Circle); serves more than 1,300 people with HIV and more than 1,100 persons receiving PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV prevention); offers last-acting, injectable prevention and treatment options for HIV; and utilizes state-of-the-art, scientifically proven point of care testing technologies. Our strategic locations award an opportunity to connect with customers external to DC and expand to Suburban Maryland counties and Northern Virginia cities.
